An increase in upload speeds can be beneficial for anyone using the internet, but we believe it will be especially useful for business broadband users who utilse VOIP services.
Annex M is partiuclarly useful for sending and receiving large files to remote workers or regional offices - another reason we believe it can be the ideal solution for business users.
The Annex M feature is only available on the very latest ADSL2+ networks. Essentially, it enables your broadband connection to increase its upload speed, by trading it for a portion of its download speed.
Xinix were involved in the very earliest tests of the Annex M system, so we understand exactly how to make the most of it for your business broadband service. Our experience of Annex M was generally very favourable, though there are some very specific circumstances in which we wouldn't recommend its use. (Ask us for more about this).
To put it simply - no, Annex M does not function as a replacement for SDSL. There are some similarities, but BT are only supporting SDSL on their existing 20th century network. Whereas Annex M is only going to be offered on their 21st century network system.
